The most common reason people abandon natural deodorants within a week is baking soda. It is the ingredient most natural deo brands use for odour control, and it is also the one most likely to cause rashes and irritation, especially for teens and anyone with sensitive skin. Bitamin Naturals, a Hyderabad-founded brand started by Karthik Paladugu after his own struggle with sensitive skin, built their formula around this gap: no baking soda, no aluminium, no alcohol, no parabens, no triclosan.

Instead the deodorants work with Zinc Ricinoleate (a castor oil derivative) and Magnesium Hydroxide for odour neutralisation, Arrowroot Powder for moisture absorption, and a base of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Vitamin C. The formulas are dermatologically tested and cruelty-free. There is also a separate teens line formulated with a gentler 3% Vitamin C concentration rather than simply relabelling the adult product. One of the few Indian brands to have thought about this.

Beyond deodorants, the personal care range includes natural body wash in three scents, a body oil, a Japanese rice water toner, and disposable underarm sweat pads.

Anyone who abandoned natural deodorants after a week of rashes almost certainly hit a baking soda formulation. Bitamin removes that variable. Worth a clean trial before writing off the category.
